From Mindset to Practice: Leading Outcomes-Based Assessment

About this Session

This 4-session series for school-based leaders covers the following areas:

  • DAY 1 - Laying the Foundation: Why this Shift Matters
What is our shared vision for outcomes-based assessment, and why does it matter for learners?
What needs to change in our current assessment practices to align with that vision?
  • DAY 2 - Clarifying Learning
What does clear, meaningful evidence of learning look like in an outcomes-based system?
How do outcomes, criteria, and proficiency scales work together to make learning transparent?
  • DAY 3 - Designing Assessment Systems
How do we design reporting and gradebook systems that accurately reflect student learning?
How do we ensure alignment between classroom assessment practices and those systems?
  • DAY 4 - Leading the Shift
What barriers (e.g., myths, habits, misconceptions) might get in the way of this shift?
