Assessment practices develop over time. Our Assessment Culture Continuum provides a way to think about where your school community is now and where you might want to go next.
Professional Learning Designed with You
Your school community is unique. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all session, we work with you to understand your context and design professional learning that is relevant to your educators and learners.
Professional learning might include a single session, a series of connected sessions, or ongoing support over time.
We can work with your team to explore questions such as:
- What does meaningful assessment look like in our context?
- How can assessment better support student learning and engagement?
- How can we create more equitable opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning?
- How can we use evidence of learning to inform instruction?
- How can students become more active participants in assessment and their own learning?

Professional Learning Investment
AAC professional learning is customized to your school team’s goals and context. Investment is based on the scope of the engagement, including facilitation, preparation, resources, and support.
AAC members receive preferred access to professional learning opportunities as well as a discount on 15 hours or more of professional learning time booked.
Travel
AAC supports equitable access to assessment professional learning across Alberta. Mileage is calculated from the nearest designated AAC departure point: Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, or Edson. Designated departure points are reviewed periodically and may be adjusted as AAC’s facilitator network and service capacity evolve.
