What Are Assessment Experiences?
Looking for meaningful ways to engage students while assessing the new curriculum? Assessment Experiences move learning beyond paper-and-pencil tasks into real-world explorations within your own community.
Each experience combines immersive student learning with job-embedded professional development for teachers.
Please Note: Most experiences take place outdoors. Students should come dressed for the weather and be prepared to spend extended periods outside.

Social Studies
- Time and Place: Exploring the dynamic relationships between people, place, and time supports understanding of perspectives and events to make meaning of the world.
Cross Curricular Connections
- Science Earth Systems: Understandings of the living world, Earth, and space are deepened by investigating natural systems and their interactions.
- Math Time: Duration is described and quantified by time.

Math
- Measurement: Attributes such as length, area, volume, and angle are quantified by measurement
Cross Curricular Connections
- Science: Matter: Understandings of the physical world are deepened by investigating matter and energy.
- Science: Living Systems: Understandings of the living world, Earth, and space are deepened by investigating natural systems and their interactions.
- Science: Energy: Understandings of the physical world are deepened by investigating matter and energy.
- ELAL: Text Forms and Structures: Identifying and applying text forms and structures improves understanding of content, literary style, and our rich language traditions
- ELAL: Oral Language: Listening and speaking form the foundation for literacy development and improve communication, collaboration, and respectful mutual understanding.

Each booking includes:
1 Hour of Pre-Coaching
A virtual planning session between the classroom teacher and an AAC Learning Designer to co-develop assessment tools tailored to your students, curriculum outcomes, and context.
3 Hours of Experiential Learning
An AAC learning Designer will facilitate an immersive cross curriculum learning experience. Sessions are student-centered and include active exploration, observation, discussion, and reflection. All Learning Designers are experienced teachers with a minimum of 5 years classroom experience.
1 Hour of Post-Coaching
A follow-up meeting between the classroom teacher and an AAC Learning Designer to reflect on student learning, answer questions, and plan next instructional steps.

Price per 3 hour in person experience: 15$ per student. 300$ minimum.
Included: Two hours of professional learning (pre- and post-coaching) are fully covered through your AAC membership.
