The document below includes a review of twenty articles related to nontraditional assessment of young children’s learning and development. Within each annotation, a specific connection has been made to questions from the AAC Key Visual, a representation of the essential elements of sound assessment practice.

Performance assessment tasks for grades 1 through 4 in varying subject areas can be accessed below. The materials include the student tasks, teacher resources, and ready to use assessment for learning tools. Student exemplars for some assessment tasks are under development.
